A LITTLE GUIDANCE GOES A LONG WAY

YOUR JOURNEY,
MADE CLEARER.

Explore useful information, course preparation tips, and official Canadian resources to help you understand your next steps.

How does the PAL process work?

The Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) is issued by the Canadian Firearms Program. Required safety training is one component of the application process, which may also include identity verification, screening, and other requirements.

01 / Explore the right course

Review the CFSC and CRFSC pages to understand the safety training options and contact us about prerequisites.

02 / Complete applicable training

Attend an eligible training course and complete the required evaluations under the applicable program rules.

03 / Consult the official application guide

The RCMP publishes current application forms, eligibility information, fees, and instructions. Use the official guidance rather than relying on informal timelines or outdated advice.

04 / Submit the application to the right authority

Only the relevant federal authorities can review and approve firearm licence applications. Course completion is not a licence.
